Moving Average Crossover Scanner for NSE Stocks
24 prebuilt scans · 10 buy-side and sell-side pairs · runs on live NSE candles
Moving averages smooth price into a line you can compare against it. A stock crossing above its 200-day average, or a fast EMA crossing a slower one, is the most common rule-based way to say that a trend may be changing. These scans check the crossing on every NSE stock and list the ones where it just happened.
Crossovers are lagging by construction. They confirm a move that has started rather than predict one, and they whip back and forth in sideways markets. Use the buy-side and sell-side twins together to see the balance of the market.

How traders use these scans
- Prefer fresh crosses (within the last two candles) over stocks that have sat above an average for months.
- Check the slope of the longer average. A cross of a flat or rising 200 DMA says more than a cross of a falling one.
- Look for volume above the stock's own average on the day of the cross.
Scans list setups that match fixed rules. They are not recommendations and none is back-tested for an edge.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between DMA and EMA?
A DMA (daily moving average) here means the simple average of the last N closes. An EMA weights recent closes more, so it reacts faster. The scans say which one they use.
Does the 9/21 EMA crossover exist here?
The built-in EMA set is 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200, so the closest pair is 10/20. You can also build your own rule in the screener with any of those lengths.
Do crossover scans work intraday?
Yes. Change the interval to 15m or 1h in the screener, or use the intraday 5/20 EMA scan.
