Bearish Stock Scanner for NSE
12 prebuilt scans · runs on live NSE candles
These scans list weakness: price breaking down through a low, stocks making new lows, closes at the bottom of the range, falling on heavy volume or rolling over from an overbought reading. Traders use them to find shorts in F&O, to avoid longs, and to review holdings.
Many bearish setups also have a buy-side twin in another family, so you can compare both sides of the market. Weak stocks can bounce hard, so a defined stop matters as much as the scan.

How traders use these scans
- Use the list as a risk review for holdings as well as a source of short ideas.
- Prefer stocks that are weak against their sector and the index.
- Look for volume above the stock's own average on a breakdown, and check the sector before acting.
Scans list setups that match fixed rules. They are not recommendations and none is back-tested for an edge.
Frequently asked questions
Can I short every stock on these lists?
No. In India most shorting is done in futures, which exist only for F&O stocks. Use the F&O segment in the screener to restrict the list.
Why are top losers capped?
Falls beyond 25% in a day are mostly splits and bonus issues, not real moves, so the scan leaves them out.
Are bearish scans signals to sell?
No. They list setups to review. Confirm with price levels, volume and your own risk rules.
