Swing Trading Stock Scanner for NSE
8 prebuilt scans · 3 buy-side and sell-side pairs · runs on live NSE candles
Swing scans work on daily candles and look for stocks in an established trend that are either continuing or pulling back in an orderly way. The trend template scans stack several conditions: price above rising averages, well above the 52-week low, close to the 52-week high and strong relative strength.
Each swing scan has a defined risk point, such as a prior low or a moving average, and the lists change slowly, so a daily check after the close is enough.
Swing trading scans
Minervini Trend Template Stocks
Close above a rising stack of the 50, 100 and 200-day averages, at least 30% above the 52-week low, within 25% of the 52-week high, with RS rating 70+ on liquid stocks (Rs 10 Cr+). Uses the 100 SMA in place of the 150.
Bearish Trend Template (Downtrend Stocks)
Close below a falling stack of the 50, 100 and 200-day averages, at least 30% below the 52-week high, within 25% of the 52-week low, with RS rating 30 or lower on liquid stocks (Rs 10 Cr+). The mirror of the trend template.
Higher Highs and Higher Lows (3 Candles)
Three candles in a row with a higher high and a higher low than the one before, inside a trend (20 EMA above 50 EMA, price above the 20 EMA) on 1.2x volume. A clean staircase up. Liquid stocks only (Rs 5 Cr+).
Lower Highs and Lower Lows (3 Candles)
Three candles in a row with a lower high and a lower low than the one before, inside a trend (20 EMA below 50 EMA, price below the 20 EMA) on 1.2x volume. A clean staircase down. Liquid stocks only (Rs 5 Cr+).
50 EMA Pullback Bounce (Uptrend)
In an uptrend (20 EMA above 50 EMA above 200 EMA) the candle dips to within 0.5% of the 50 EMA and closes green above it. A pullback that held the medium-term average. Liquid stocks only (Rs 5 Cr+).
50 EMA Rally Rejection (Downtrend)
In a downtrend (20 EMA below 50 EMA below 200 EMA) the candle rallies to within 0.5% of the 50 EMA and closes red below it. A bounce that failed at the medium-term average. Liquid stocks only (Rs 5 Cr+).
Trend Continuation
Strong trend structure with aligned EMAs, healthy RSI and participation.
Low Volume Pullback
Mild red day on dry volume inside an established uptrend — healthy dip, not distribution.
How traders use these scans
- Run the scans after the close on end-of-day data and plan entries for the next session.
- Combine the trend template with a breakout or pullback scan to time entries.
- Size positions from the stop distance on the chart, not from conviction.
Scans list setups that match fixed rules. They are not recommendations and none is back-tested for an edge.
Frequently asked questions
Is the trend template the same as Minervini's?
It follows the same idea with one change: the 100-day average stands in for the 150-day, which the screener does not have, and the 200-day slope is checked over eight sessions.
How often should I run swing scans?
Once a day after the close is enough. Intraday runs read the last completed daily candle.
Are these scans back-tested?
No. They describe a setup, not an expected return.
