Previous Week High Breakout
Close breaks above last week's high after the previous session closed at or below it, on at least average volume. A fresh weekly-level breakout, not a stock already extended above it.
About This Scan
Last week's high is a level many traders watch. This scan lists NSE stocks whose daily close is above the previous week's high while the session before closed at or below it, on volume at or above the stock's own average and turnover of at least Rs 5 Cr. Because the earlier close must be under the level, the list shows fresh breakouts only, not stocks that are already extended above it.

How To Use This Scan
- •Check the close, not just the intraday break. A close above last week's high is the stronger signal.
- •Look at what is just above. A breakout into a major resistance, such as a 52-week high or a gap, can stall.
- •Use last week's high as a stop reference, since a close back below it undoes the breakout. The list can be short on quiet days.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the previous week high?
The highest price traded in the last full trading week, Monday to Friday.
Why only fresh breakouts?
The scan needs the previous session to close at or below the level, so a stock that has been above it for days is not listed.
Is there a monthly version?
Not as a prebuilt scan yet. You can build one in the screener by using the Prev Month High column.
