Oversold in Uptrend (Buy the Dip)
RSI has dropped below 35 while the close is still above the 200-day average: a deep dip inside a long-term uptrend, the setup dip-buyers look for.
About This Scan
Oversold readings are most useful when the long-term trend is still up. This scan lists NSE stocks whose 14-period RSI is below 35 while the close is still above the 200-day simple moving average, on turnover of at least Rs 5 Cr. It separates a deep pullback inside an uptrend from a stock that is simply falling.

How To Use This Scan
- •Wait for a sign that selling is easing, such as a green candle, an RSI turn back up or a hold above a recent low. Oversold can stay oversold.
- •Check why it fell. A market-wide dip is different from a stock-specific negative event.
- •Keep the stop below the recent swing low. This scan has not been back-tested for an edge.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does oversold in an uptrend mean?
RSI is low, showing heavy recent selling, but price is still above its 200-day average, so the long-term trend has not broken.
Why RSI below 35 and not 30?
A slightly higher threshold keeps stocks that dip only briefly in strong trends. For the classic reading, use the RSI Oversold Stocks scan.
Is this a buy signal?
No. It is a watch-list. Confirm the bounce with price action and volume before acting.
