About This Scan
A tweezer bottom is a two-candle pattern where two candles in a row stop at the same low. This scan looks for a red candle in a downtrend (below the 20 EMA) followed by a green candle whose low is within 0.3% of the red candle's low, on Rs 5 Cr of last-session turnover. Price tried to break lower twice at the same level and failed both times. The mirror scan is Tweezer Top. For other reversal shapes, see Hammer Reversal and Bullish Engulfing.

How To Use This Scan
- •Wait for confirmation. A close above the green candle's high on the next candle is the usual sign that buyers are in control.
- •Look at the location. A tweezer bottom at a known support or a prior low is more meaningful than one in open space.
- •Place the stop below the shared low. This scan has not been back-tested for an edge.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a tweezer bottom?
Two candles with matching lows: the first red, the second green. It marks a level that sellers could not break twice.
How close must the lows be?
Within 0.3% of each other, which allows for small differences in the low prints.
Does it work on intraday charts?
Yes. Switch the interval to 15m or 1h. Tweezers on short charts are common, so add a volume rule.
