Three Inside Down
A large green candle (1%+ body), a red candle inside its body, then a candle that closes below the first candle's open and the second candle's close. A confirmed bearish harami. Liquid stocks only (Rs 5 Cr+).
About This Scan
Three inside down is a three-candle reversal pattern. A large green candle comes first, then a smaller red candle inside its body, which is a bearish harami. The third candle closes below the first candle's open and below the second candle's close, which confirms the turn. This scan requires the first candle to have a body of at least 1% and Rs 5 Cr of last-session turnover. It is rare, so the list is short. The mirror scan is Three Inside Up. For the unconfirmed version, see Bearish Harami.

How To Use This Scan
- •The confirmation candle is already in the pattern, so the first candle's high is the usual stop reference.
- •Look at where the pattern formed. Near a prior high, a falling average or resistance it carries more weight than in the middle of a range.
- •Check volume on the third candle. A close below the first candle's open on rising volume is more convincing. This scan has not been back-tested for an edge.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is three inside down?
A green candle, a red candle inside its body and a third candle closing below the green candle's open. It shows buying losing control and sellers confirming.
How is it different from a bearish harami?
A harami is two candles and waits for confirmation. Three inside down includes the confirming third candle.
Why is the list so short?
The pattern needs three candles to fit exact rules, so few liquid stocks qualify on most days.
