PCR sentiment analysis for the Indian options market
PCR Sentiment compares put-call ratios based on open interest and trading volume. OI PCR describes outstanding positions; volume PCR describes traded activity during the reference period, including positions that may open and close within it.
Check that both ratios use matching contracts, strikes and dates before comparing them. High or low ratios may reflect buying, writing, hedging or spreads. Agreement does not independently establish direction, and disagreement alone cannot prove unwinding. Use the underlying price, IV and each ratio's history to assess possible explanations.

Understanding PCR Sentiment

The ratio of Put Open Interest to Call Open Interest for stocks. A higher PCR (above 1) suggests bearish sentiment, while a lower PCR (below 1) indicates bullish sentiment.
Volume PCR (Volume Put Call Ratio)
The ratio of Put Volume to Call Volume for stock options. This indicates real-time trading activity and can signal immediate market sentiment shifts in individual stocks.
Trend Indicators
Green arrows indicate increasing PCR (more bearish), while red arrows show decreasing PCR (more bullish). Compare with previous close to identify sentiment changes.
