Fast EMA crossovers on 15-minute charts are the scalper's trend-shift trigger. This scan requires the cross to happen above VWAP with at least average volume — the difference between a real intraday trend change and lunchtime noise.
Scan Rules
Stock passes all of the below filters in the ALL segment using 15M candles:
- 1.EMA 5 crosses above EMA 20 within the last 3 candles
- 2.Relative Volume greater than or equal to 0.8
- 3.Daily Change Percent greater than or equal to 0
How To Use This Scan
- •Trade in the direction of the day's VWAP slope only; counter-VWAP crosses chop out.
- •Take the first pullback to the 20 EMA after the cross as the safer entry.
- •Flat after 3 PM — late crosses have no time to develop.
